Sparring

We teach 3 types of sparring concepts as part of our everyday class procedures. They are:

* Classroom
- This type of sparring is a general overview of footwork, kicking and hand drills. It is a great way to get comfortable with sparring

* Test - This type of sparring is designed to measure your ability to use offense, defense, blocking skills, reading skills, set-up skills and speed.

* Tournament
- not for everyone, competitive sparring uses a strict set of rules designed for safety, and entertainment. We use the "point style" of sparring. This is a fast paced aerobic style of competition with a small target area

Introducing Integrated Martial Arts
-
* Integrated Martial Arts, or IMA for short, is a mixture of Stand Up Point Style sparring  and Jiu-Jitsu style ground fighting. Unlike MMA it does not allow punching to the face or any type of strike once the competitors are on the ground. This new program is only for advanced Adult students.
